What is statutory compliance?

What is statutory compliance?

Statutory compliance refers to the adherence to rules and regulations set by government agencies. These rules are derived from the legal framework in the UK and cover various aspects including employment, taxes, health and safety, and environmental protection. In a business context, statutory compliance ensures that organisations operate within a pre defined legal boundaries and treat their employees appropriately.

Additionally, in Facilities Management, statutory compliance involves meeting legal requirements related to operational asset availability, asset maintenance and sustainability. Essentially, it is about following mandatory guidelines set by government to ensure proper functioning and responsible behaviour within an organisation or industry.
